The main difference between the various educational pathways lies in the choice of major subjects, which give the student’s individual education a specific profile.
All our educational pathways offer a choice of several major subjects:

The Classical and Modern Languages Pathway offers the choice of a third foreign language
(French, Italian, English, Spanish, Latin, or Greek, provided that the particular language has not yet been chosen as a second national language or core subject). |

|
On the Mathematics and Natural Sciences Pathway there is additional instruction in either Applied Mathematics and Physics, or in Biology and Chemistry. |

|
The Art and Music Pathway is defined by the choice of a second art subject (music or art) in addition to the one chosen as a core subject. |

|
|
The Economics and Law Pathway is defined by the choice of Economics and Law as a major combined subject. |
Basically, students should choose their pathway according to their personal disposition and skills.
The decision to follow a particular pathway in no way predetermines the direction of further study at university level. Any type of Swiss Grammar School Matriculation Certificate (Maturität) actually allows students to study any discipline at a Swiss university.
